Your tyre size is on the sidewall — for example 205/55 R16 91V. The first number is the width in mm, the second is the aspect ratio, R means radial, the third is the rim diameter in inches, and the final figures are the load and speed ratings. Not sure? Give us a call.

The legal minimum is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre around the full circumference. Driving on illegal tyres can mean a fine of up to £2,500 and 3 penalty points per tyre. We recommend replacing at 3mm — wet braking performance drops significantly below this level.
